Cello of the Heart

Cellist Naomi Watts  will present an evening exploring the many aspects of love through the 'Romantic Cello'. A lovely programme of music from Schubert and Brahms to Debussy's Sonata which describes the bonkers character Pierrot playing the flute to his beloved - the moon! An arrangement of an aria about tragic love by Gluck, Brahms' F major Sonata - he wrote all of his piano/instrumental with piano music for his beloved - Clara Schumann and the
Fantasiestucke op 73 - the turbulent and brooding pieces by Robert Schumann. Plus more quirky pieces demonstrating the soulful warmth of the cello.

Naomi is an exceptionally versatile musician. She is a full member of the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra and has travelled the world extensively taking part in International Music Festivals as well as playing many Chamber Music recitals throughout the UK. She is also a fully qualified yoga teacher and delivers workshops to younger pre-professional musicians through the South Bank Sinfonia. She is also exploring composing her own music with the help of a loop-pedal - watch this space!

Alison has worked with Naomi over many years and works at many of the London Conservatoires as a professional accompanist.
