Romantic Classics @ the Cowdray
People express themselves in different ways on Valentine's Day – from traditionalists who murmur sweet nothings while smooth jazz plays in the background, to those who prefer to belt out love ballads at the top of their voice. Join us in the Cowdray Hall as the Nova Quartet present a special evening of romance just for you this Valentine’s Day. Music includes classical favourites such as Méditation (Thaïs), the Flower Duet (Lakmé) and Clair de lune, alongside a selection of popular songs by The Monkees, The Beatles and Carly Simon.

Bridgerton Classics @ the Cowdray
Rather than bewigged orchestras at fancy balls, the latest period drama – Bridgerton - surprises us all with pop songs by Miley Cyrus, Taylor Swift, Harry Styles, Madonna and more, all scored for string quartet.  Of course, it wouldn’t be a period drama without some actual classical music (Haydn and Vivaldi) and the result is an irresistible blend of old and new played here in their own special style by the Nova Quartet.

Movie Classics @ the Cowdray
Experience all the glam and glitz of Hollywood as we celebrate some of the most iconic music from the movies. From James Bond to Chitty-Chitty Bang-Bang and from the joyfulness of Disney’s Frozen to the stillness of Hans Zimmer’s Interstellar and Inception, we take you on a journey from heartbreak to sunshine as we visit popular music from Schindler’s List to Toy Story. Sit back and enjoy the show!

Family 'Transylvanian' Ceilidh

Celebrating Irving Berlin

Friday 31 May 2024, 7.30-9.30pm

Irving Berlin was a prolific composer who wrote more than 1,500 songs over his 101 years lifespan. Mezzo soprano Jane Monari and tenor Christian Schneeberger sing some of his most familiar melodies, accompanied by Derek Clark, in this beautifully constructed presentation of his life story. Feel free to hum along to Alexander’s Ragtime Band, Blue Skies, Won’t You Play a Simple Melody, I’ve Got My Love to Keep Me Warm, and many more. An evening of great tunes which will appeal to those new to Irving Berlin as well as established fans.
