Checkmate by Griffin Theatre

Head back with us to 1923, to a town rattled by a string of disappearances, all leads have gone cold and the police are at a stalemate. Every room is booked up at The Farmbrook Inn for the county chess tournament, but by the morning there will be a new vacancy.

Everyone is a suspect. Everyone has a secret to hide. How long can the truth stay hidden? Can you ever truly escape your own checkered past?

When all the characters have a motive, can you guess who's dunnit?

Join Griffin Theatre for a knight to remember in this high spirited murder mystery Checkmate.

Age recommendation: 9 and over (references to murder and capital punishment)

We have an open pricing structure for our tickets - we ask for £3 for a concession ticket, or £5 for a full price ticket and it's up to you to decide which of those feels more comfortable for you. If you would like to pay more, we would be very grateful if you could donate on top of your ticket. If the cost is a barrier to you attending please get in touch and we can work to accommodate you. We will not turn anyone away for lack of funds. Email or call us on 0117 953 2448

Checkmate is made possible thanks to the generous support of The Nisbet Trust.
