Chris Tarrant - It's Not a Proper Job: Stories from 50 Years in TV

The king of popular broadcasting, Chris Tarrant, is instantly recognisable with many of us who have grown up with Chris on our screens.  From his early days presenting the news on the Midlands-based ATV, the crazy years on Tiswas, the voice of Capital Radio’s ever-popular breakfast show, to making Who Wants to be a Millionaire the world’s most famous quiz show!  Chris will be chatting about his new book, It’s Not a Proper Job: Stories from 50 years in TV.

Chris will be recalling stories from a career that spans five decades.  Expect tales of flan-flinging and pranks on the set of Tiswas; stories of hilarious behind-the-scenes capers with fellow celebrities; the joyous high of contestants winning life-changing sums of money on Who Wants to be a Millionaire and the now infamous story of the cheating ‘Coughing Major’!  All told with Chris’ trademark wit and self-mockery. With 50 years of stories to tell, this promises to be a fun filled hour for all.

Interviewing Chris will be Justin Leigh.  Justin has more than 30 years radio and TV presenting and was one of the main presenters of the BBC regional news, Spotlight.
