Churchyard Walk - with David Carter

Ship-owners and shipwrights, mariners and merchants, sailors and life-boatmen – they are all buried at St. Mary’s churchyard.  But what are the stories behind these monuments?

Local historian David Carter will be leading small groups around the churchyard on three occasions during this Festival.  His research has uncovered some amazing tales and some extraordinary facts: come and let David astonish you with their stories.

Come prepared with umbrellas and study shoes if rain looks likely - the ground might become slippery.  Sorry, no dogs.
