Fern Britton - The Good Servant

Broadcaster and presenter, Fern Britton is the highly acclaimed author of nine Sunday Times bestselling novels. These have all been set in her beloved Cornwall but The Good Servant breaks away from this theme and focuses on a real woman Marion Crawford, known as Crawfie, the governess to the royal princesses – Elizabeth and Margaret.

This period novel is about the conflict between duty and desire that reimagines the life of Crawfie and the crucial decision she must make that will impact all of their lives.

Fern spent 14 years as a journalist before presenting Ready, Steady, Cook for the BBC.  This Morning for ITV followed and she won several awards and became a household name. She also presented many other programmes including Fern Britton Meets, The Big Allotment Challenge and most recently Watercolour Challenge.

Interviewing Fern will be Laura James.  Laura has been a broadcaster for over 20 years - presenting radio shows across the South West.  She now presents the daytime show for North Devon's The Voice.
