APS 90th Anniversary Celebration

Celebrate the 90th anniversary of the APS, with the world premiere performance of Loads of Lolly, followed by the annual Christmas Party!

Loads of Lolly is a version of the hilarious stage play Tons of Money, performed as APS's inaugural production in November 1934.

Shortened and simplified specifically for our 90th birthday, this version aims to keep the spirt and the farcical nonsense of the original.

The second half of the evening will consist of our traditional festive gathering: refreshments will be available and the bar will be open.

All members and friends of APS are welcome.

We are sorry, but this event is now sold out.
You can use the 'Book' button below to see if there have been any cancellations and you can also email Adrian Harding (anharding@btinternet.com) asking to be placed on a reserve list. THE IMPORTANCE OF BEING EARNEST by Oscar Wilde

Two eligible bachelors are forced to lead double lives while in pursuit of two young women who are both determined to marry a man of the name of Ernest. Their search soon becomes a tangle of deception, disguise and misadventure, and adding to the confusion there is the small matter of a handbag and its contents.
This dazzling, farcical play is famous for its witty dialogue, razor-sharp satire and timeless humour, and is considered to be one of the greatest stage comedies of all time.

Welcome or Welcome Not

Dorchester-based actor and folk singer Alastair Braidwood is joined by his mentor, esteemed and respected singer and folk musician Tim Laycock, for an evening full of festive cheer, including humorous stories read and acted, traditional songs and carols to be sung along to, poems recited, and folk tunes to tap your foot to.

These energetic and knowledgeable entertainers are bringing their Christmas offering to Sherborne, with words and music from Dorset and beyond all to do with the traditional Christmas known to Thomas Hardy and William Barnes. A homely treat for the season!
