Walk 1.1 Oxton to Gala via The Girthgate
This walk follows part of the ancient “sanctuary” road from Soutra to Melrose Abbey. From Oxton there are extensive views passing over Collie Law, Inchkeith and Lauder Common towards Threepwood following the Allan Water. Then via Ladhopemoor down to Galashiels.

Walk 1.2 Lauder to Galashiels (SUW)
Follow the Southern Upland Way from the Royal Burgh of Lauder following old drove roads and tracks to Langlee, to Galashiels

Walk 1.3 Two Towers, Buckholm and Torwoodlee
Join the Archaeology Officer on a walk back through time.  Starting in the town centre looking at some modern archaeology, you will go on to discover ancient hidden homes on your journey.  A wonderful opportunity to walk through Torwoodlee and Buckholm Estates, one of the oldest landholdings in the Galashiels Area.

Walk 1.4 Eildon to Bowden Village
A pleasant walk through the Eildon estate using roads and tracks to reach Bowden Village. We start in mature woodland and then continue on an ancient track between fields where we should have fine views over towards Wester Eildon and, to the south, extensive views over the Border countryside. We emerge onto Bowden common and drop down to the village.
