The year is 1867. Edward Brett and his Irish wife, Eliza, are struggling to make a living from their small shop. Edward’s brother, a popular policeman, has been shot dead during the rescue of two Irish Republican prisoners and tensions mount as the couple struggle with their loss, their loyalties and their different cultural backgrounds. A thoughtful and intriguing piece of theatre with music.
