Methane leaks and Stinky Bottoms

Sulphur-rich groundwater in the Craven Basin occurs naturally. Studies on this allows us to use stable isotopes of sulphur, oxygen and carbon to determine if the methane comes from fossil fuels or is biogenic, and hence decide if water has been polluted by fracking.
