Chetham's Symphony Orchestra begin their full rehearsals for performances in Lancaster and Manchester during February's Music Course. This spring, for the first time, interested audience members are invited to join them in the rehearsal room to see how sections, soloists and conductor combine into the massed forces we hear onstage.
The CSO programme includes Rossini's Thieving Magpie, Respighi's Fountains and Pines of Rome, and Shostakovich's Violin Concerto No. 1 with student soloist Coco Inman. The orchestra is conducted by Stephen Threlfall, Director of Music at Chetham's, who will also introduce and explain processes to audience members throughout the afternoon.
This event will take place in Whiteley Hall - access via Millgate Entrance.
