A tough day mostly following the Monmouthshire and Brecon Canal with a climb towards the end. The canal winds its way gently through Llanfoist, Govilon, Gilwern and Llangattock before the trail leaves the canal and ascends fields and woods high above the River Usk with wonderful views of the Black Mountains. We then have a short walk along the canal ending today’s walk at Llangynidr Village Hall.

Please note that The Angel Hotel in Abergavenny, named Best in Wales by the Good Hotel Guide 2020, will be supplying us with a complimentary packed lunch today.
