This energetic walk allows visitors to explore the reminders of once-thriving industry and the unique landscape around Llangattock.  A steep ascent to the bleak moorland atop Mynydd Llangatwg takes us to the Witches Pool, the site of a Dark Ages battle, and the Lonely Shepherd via Twr Pen-cyrn.  Stunning views of the central Beacons and Black Mountains if visibility is good - a brooding sense of ancient menace and a test of navigation if poor. Climb includes some short but steep and rugged sections that need a good head for heights.
Julia at Ty Neuadd will kindly supply us with coffee and biscuits at the start and tea and cake at the end of the walk. Walk leaves Ty Neuadd at 10am.
