A delightful walk along the river Usk, through the Glanusk Estate, and back via the Mon and Brec canal. From CRiC we cross Bull Pit Meadow and walk upstream, with great views up to Table Mountain and the Darren. A permissive path in the Glanusk Estate - kindly opened by the Estate - takes us over a fine bridge, and through the estate; then a short ascent brings us up to the Mon and Brec canal. The canal walk back is peaceful with plenty of wildlife. An optional extension of 1.5 miles along the canal is available (no additional ascent, 1.30pm finish). This walk is featured in the WaWiC publication ‘Cracking Walks around Crickhowell’.
