Martin Parr has a decade-long relationship with Dunoon which began when he accepted a commission, in 2008, to photograph life along the nearby A8 corridor. Dunoon was part of this Scottish exploration and a number of photographs taken then, such as
Cowal Games, Craigen Tea Room and Daisy’s Den, will be included in this exhibition.
Brandishing his unique perspective and masterly powers of observation to examine familiar, national characteristics, Parr encourages the viewer to see everyday scenes and the people in them in a completely original way whilst conceding, affectionately, to the humorous eccentricities therein.
