Michael Palin CBE FRGS has been a force to reckon with in the world of entertainment and literature: a member of the wonderful Monty Python group, he is a comedian and actor, a BAFTA Award winner and BAFTA Fellow, a prolific writer and, as a travel documentary film maker, he has taken viewers around the world.

Ewan Mundy, with his wife Carol, have been art dealers in Glasgow since 1979, exhibited work in London as well, for several years and organised a number exhibitions in New York.  They have a decade-long association with the Burgh Hall and an even longer association with Michael, who has been acquiring paintings from them since the early 1990's.

Michael will be ‘In Conversation’ with Ewan about a shared passion for Scottish art and artists , especially The Scottish Colourists.  They will discuss how these painters became of interest and why their work appeals to Michael, his perspective on artists such as Peploe, Fergusson, Hunter and Cadell, and he will talk about the films and programmes Michael has made about various artists including The Scottish Colourists in 2000.

This will be a unique opportunity to enjoy a bit of time with this delightful raconteur and to enjoy Michael Palin’s keen sense of observation and undaunted humour.
