Dr Rowan Williams: Faith, Hope & Fiction

Dr Rowan Williams's recent book of meditations, Candles in the Dark: Faith, Hope and Love in a Time of Pandemic looked at the resources we have available to think and pray through lockdown. In the first session of this Reflection Day he explores these themes further in the context of how fiction can be part of those resources, looking especially at some recent novels by Marilynne Robinson and Susanna Clarke. In the second session he and Professor Paul Fiddes will converse with each other on these themessessions, and, in the final session will open the conversation to other Prebendaries of St Endellion, and other participants online, invited to join in. 10.00am – 11.00 am. Preb. Dr Rowan Williams: “Faith, Hope and Fiction”. 12.00 pm – 1.00 pm. Preb. Dr Rowan Williams and Preb. Prof. Paul S. Fiddes in conversation about “Faith, Hope and Fiction”. 2.15 pm – 3.15 pm. Other Prebendaries of St Endellion and participants online join the conversation, chaired by Canon Judith Pollinger.
