An Evening of Cornish Stand-up: Edward Rowe, Anna Keirle and Mimi (North Cornwall Book Festival 2024)

North Cornwall Book Festival 2024 - An Evening of Cornish Stand-up with Edward Rowe, Anna Keirle and Mimi
Festival Marquee
Thursday 26 September, 7.30pm
£12

In a first for the book festival, we present an evening of proper Cornish stand-up. Featuring Roche’s own superstar, Edward Rowe and his support acts, Anna Keirle and Cornwall Comedian of the Year 2022, Mimi.

Edward Rowe is an award-winning actor, writer, director and comedian (under alias ‘Kernow King), best known nationally for his performance in BAFTA-winning film Bait and locally as Kneehigh Theatre’s ‘Pasty Man’, the much-loved pasty-making superhero. He is also a Bard of the Cornish Gorsedd and appears in Strike, House of the Dragon, The Witcher and Enys Men.

Anna has a cheeky comedic storytelling style. Described as a bumpkin in her first ever review, she has, however, won the Weakest Link. A quick witted MC, Anna has performed stand-up locally and internationally, from festivals and clubs to prestigious events.

Bodmin-based comedian, Mimi, was shocked to win Cornwall Comedian of the Year 2022 on her third ever gig. She is a high energy performer, super scatty and armed with a ukulele to accompany her sweet but sour observations.

Before this event we will be hosting a pop up street food cafe, so you you can grab a bite to eat and a drink.
