Petroc Trewlawny will be in conversation with Patrick Gale discussing his new book Trelawny’s Cornwall.

When a stranger challenged Petroc Trelawny on the authenticity of his ancestry, it inspired him to return to the lands of his boyhood to see if he could trace his bloodline to the Trelawny of history and analyse his Cornishness in the process.

Trelawny’s Cornwall is a deeply felt exploration of Cornwall’s past, present and future in which Petroc seeks the even stranger truths behind local legends. Holding a finger up to the winds of change and conjuring marvellously vivid figures from the inexhaustible depths of his memory, Petroc tells the story of a loving family full of mysteries and a landscape still redolent of ‘Cornish otherness’.
