Frazer Theatre Comedy Club - April 2024

On Friday 5th April, The Frazer Theatre Comedy Club welcomes another fantastic line up of comedians following another sell-out show in March.

Performing this month are Matt Bragg, Mike Newall, Don Biswas and MC Danny Deegan.

Tickets are just £10 in advance and, if any are remaining, they will be available for £12 on the door. Doors open at 7.30pm and the show starts at 8pm.

Paul Foot: Dissolve

On Friday 12th April 2024, The Frazer Theatre Comedy Club and Plosive Live present Paul Foot with his new show Dissolve.

Life is a stress: full of rushed breakfasts, angry people, internal conflict, and Jacob Rees-Mogg. But what happens when everything you thought was important – your problems, grievances against others, your very identity – simply disappears?

Multi-award-winning and trail-blazing comedian, Paul Foot, is back on tour with Dissolve, his most personal, surprising and ground-breaking show ever. 

Tickets are £16 (+ £1.60 booking fee). Doors open at 7.30pm and the show starts at 8pm.  Age guidance - 16+
 

Paul Mirfin Band

On Saturday 20th April, Frazer Theatre Music presents local folk-rock group The Paul Mirfin Band. 

The band will play original songs from their successful album ‘Ancient Roads’ along with hits like This Train is Bound for Glory and The Fighter and a few Johnny Cash and Tom Petty covers. 
Supporting them is singer-song writer Rufus Beckett.

The Sound of Bowie

On Saturday 27th April, Frazer Theatre Music presents The Sound of Bowie.

If you love Bowie you’ll love this gig. The Sound Of Bowie” performed by Martin Gough. This show is a must for all Bowie fans and as the man himself has reinvented himself many times and altered his style and music, there is something in the show for everyone.

Secondary Cause of Death

From Wednesday 15th to Saturday 18th May, the Knaresborough Players will be performing "Secondary Cause of Death", a hilarious whodunnit spoof written by Peter Gordon.

This is a sequel to "Murdered to Death" which was performed by the Knaresborough Players in May 2019 which was enjoyed by all who attended - but don't worry if you missed out, you don't need to have seen it to see this!

There are performances every evening and a matinee at 2pm on Saturday 18th May. Tickets are £10 (£8 over 60/under 16). 

 

Alchemy Live - Dire Straits Tribute

On Saturday 1st June, Frazer Theatre Music welcomes back Alchemy Live, a tribute to Dire Straits and Mark Knopfler. 

Formed in 2022 by frontman Martin Ledger, Alchemy Live hail from Yorkshire and bring together a group of professional players and friends who share a common love of the music of Mark Knopfler and Dire Straits. Collectively the band have toured worldwide and have shared the stage with rock legends such as Mike Rutherford, Mick Hucknell, Roger Taylor and many more.

The Pirates of Penzance

From Tuesday 4th to Friday 7th June, The Frazer Theatre welcomes back the Harrogate Gilbert & Sullivan Society. This year they will be performing The Pirates of Penzance.

Great news, it’s Frederic’s birthday! And he’s got everything he could ever want: freedom from a life of crime, a beautiful bride, and many a glass of pirate sherry. Nothing could possibly go wrong for him now – that is, so long as his past stays in the past. Featuring soft-hearted pirates, cold-footed policemen, bright-eyed beauties, and the very model of a Modern Major-General, this production is guaranteed to be more fun than an escape to the seaside, bevy of beautiful maidens included. But with black sails on the horizon and no one sure what side they’re on, will everything end happily ever after?

There are performances at 7.30pm on Tuesday 4th, Wednesday 5th and Thursday 6th June and a performance at 6pm on Friday 7th June. Tickets are £15 (booking fee applies). Qween UK

On Friday 28th June, Frazer Theatre Music presents the premier UK Qween tribute band, Qween UK. Consisting of four experienced and professionally seasoned musicians, with a shared passion to produce and successfully deliver the definitive “Queen live experience” on stage to a very high standard.

Qween UK are fronted by the highly talented singer and musician Billy West who has over thirty years professional experience working as the eclectic legend that is Freddie Mercury. QWEEN UK’s extensive live repertoire encompasses all the “classic” Queen songs as well as their subtle and much-loved acoustic arrangements respectively

George! The Ultimate Tribute to George Harrison

On Saturday 7th September, Frazer Theatre Music presents "George!", the ultimate tribute to George Harrison, starring Nick Bold. George! is a spirited performance that is as close to what it was like to be at an actual George Harrison concert as you could ever imagine.

With George! Nick is taking his passion for the quiet Beatle to a new level. The two hour plus performance is a tour de force that brings audiences to their feet with joy as Bold embodies the essence of Harrison with his virtuoso guitar playing and spot-on vocals. It’s all there, George’s biggest Beatles hits and all of his wonderful post-breakup solo material, including music from his 1980’s supergroup, The Traveling Wilburys.

Martin Turner ex Wishbone Ash

On Saturday 14th September Frazer Theatre Music presents Martin Turner.

Following the success of their 2023 tour, which featured Wishbone Ash’s 1973 Live Dates double live album performed in its entirety, Martin Turner and his band return to the concert stages in 2024 to perform its sequel, Live Dates Volume II.

An Evening Of Swearing and Shouting with Gavin Webster

On Friday 20th September, The Frazer Theatre Comedy Club welcomes one of our favourite headliners, Gavin Webster, with his tour show "An Evening of Swearing and Shouting with Gavin Webster".

Gavin Webster, a stand up comedian of over 30 years is on tour to share his jokes, routines and set pieces, his one liners, dark observations, sardonic ukulele comedy songs and verbal crash bang wallops.

Go Your Own Way - Fleetwood Mac Tribute

On Saturday 28th September, Frazer Theatre Music welcomes back Go Your Own Way, one of the UK’s leading Fleetwood Mac tribute acts.

Formed in 2019 from talented and enthusiastic West Yorkshire based musicians to pay tribute to the music and artistry of Fleetwood Mac, “Go Your Own Way” are rapidly establishing themselves as a leading Fleetwood Mac tribute act. Vocally, Angela Naylor is the nearest thing to Stevie Nicks, other than Stevie Nicks herself and the musicians are able to replicate that Fleetwood Mac live sound of their 1970’s heyday.

Gaelforce

On Friday 25th October, Frazer Theatre Music presents Gaelforce, an award winning Celtic Folk Rock Band who were the 2023 winners of the introducing stage at the Great British Folk Festival by public vote to an audience of 2-3000 people.

Playing traditional Irish & Scottish songs & tunes in a folk rock style similar to the likes of Runrig and Wolfstone.

Abba Sensation!

On Friday November 15th, Frazer Theatre Music presents Abba Sensation. After their last sold out visit two years ago, we simply had to have them back!
 
Widely considered to be one of the best ever Abba Tribute Acts, they play to packed theatres and festivals throughout Europe. A stunning stage show, which combines costume changes, lighting effects and a faithful reproduction of the Abba sound.

Tom As Usual

On Saturday 23rd November, the simply sensational Robert T Leonard comes to Knaresborough with his Tom As Usual Showband.

Close your eyes and Robert IS Tom Jones - open them up again - and he’s STILL Tom!!! The look, the mannerisms, the moves, the accent - and most of all - THE VOICE!!! Astonishing vocals from an astonishing vocalist!!! And all backed by a superb band - who’s energy really brings Sir Toms classic songs to life.

Atom Heart Floyd

On Friday 29th November, Frazer Theatre Music welcomes back Atom Heart Floyd, a group of professional musicians who have a shared passion – to reproduce the classic sound of Pink Floyd live.

Focusing on delivering the songs every Pink Floyd fan wants to hear, along with a few extra rarities and album tracks, Atom Heart Floyd deliver over 2 hours of music including songs from The Wall, Wish You Were Here, and The Dark Side Of The Moon, plus songs from Animals, The Piper at the Gates of Dawn, Meddle, The Final Cut, The Division Bell, and A Momentary Lapse of Reason.

Benidorm Elvis

On Saturday 7th December, Frazer Theatre Music presents Victor Andrews as Benidorm Elvis.

Victor Andrews is an award winning Elvis, and his highly commended on his likeness to the legend Elvis Presley. His looks, his moves and his outstanding vocal ability captures the essence of the King.

The Rod Stewart Songbook

On Sunday 2nd February Frazer Theatre Music welcoms back The Rod Stewart Songbook, a tribute to the great Rod Stewart featuring a full live band.
