ABOUT THE VENUE:

 

The night will involve time spent around specific areas of paranormal interest around the 26 acres of atmospheric Wheal Martyn grounds and through the historic Victorian clay work buildings, including the spooky flat rod tunnel, ancient crib hut and former linhay, all steeped in industrial history and once worked by a team of traditional Cornish clay workers.

 

PREVIOUS ACTIVITY:

Our friends and colleagues at LunaOrbis have investigated this site on a number of occasions, with fascinating results and widespread activity! Our first night on May 26th was incredible with some fantastic activity: doors slamming, partial manifestations, a K2 meter responding on demand, etc being quite possibly the best ever first night at a new location.and subsequent nights have also included poltergeist activity, footsteps and an apparent possession.

ITINERARY

Below are the details of the night's activities and requirements. Please note you must book  in advance.

21.00-21.15  ARRIVALS – PLEASE HEAD TO THE MAIN ENTRANCE
If you arrive before 10.00pm please wait in the car park!

THE EVENING BEGINS- WELCOME AND INTRODUCTIONS. THIS IS
FOLLOWED BY A TALK ABOUT THE EVENING AND HISTORY OF THE LOCATION.

Followed by  A TOUR OF THE AREAS, FOCUSING ON HAUNTED LOCATIONS.

THE GHOST WATCH- TIME SPENT IN EACH OF THE HAUNTED LOCATIONS with
assistance from our team, using a variety of investigation techniques.

This can include study sessions inside and outside (weather permitting);
discussions; dowsing; darkness study sessions; ghost vigils, equipment use
and other possibilities depending on time and group preference.

2.00am  END OF NIGHTS EVENTS (please leave safely and quietly)

REFRESHMENTS: Tea and coffee will be available throughout the evening

DIRECTIONS:
Wheal Martyn (formerly known as the The China Clay Country Park) is on the
B3274, 2 miles north of St Austell. situated in the village of Carthew (between St Austell and Bugle).

Travelling from the west on the A390 from the Truro direction. As you approach St Austell, turn left, signposted Town Centre/brown sign for China Clay Country Park. At the traffic lights go straight across onto the B3274
(Truro Road). At the next traffic lights go straight across and follow the
road around a tight left hand bend. Continue on the B3274 (Bodmin Road)
past a car park on your right for 2 miles through Trethowel and Ruddlemoor.
The Country Park will be on your left in the village of Carthew.

Travelling from the east on the A390 from the Plymouth direction At the traffic lights, turn right signposted Bodmin A391 (A30). Take the second exit at each of the four roundabouts on this 1.9 mile climb. After 0.6
miles, at the double mini roundabout (Carluddon) take the first exit
signposted Bodmin A391 (A30). After 1 mile, at the roundabout (Singlerose) take the first exit signposted Carthew B3274. After 1 mile, the Country Park is on the right.

Travelling on the A3058 from the Newquay direction At the traffic lights turn left onto the B3274 (Truro Road). At the next traffic lights go straight across and follow the road around a tight left hand bend. Continue on the B3274 (Bodmin Road) past a car park on your right for 2 miles through Trethowel and Ruddlemoor. The Country Park will be on your left in the village of Carthew.

Travelling on the B3273 from the Pentewan/Mevagissey direction Turn left at
the large roundabout signposted Truro A390. Turn right at the junction onto the A3058. At the traffic lights turn right onto the B3274 (Truro Road). At the next traffic lights go straight across and follow the road around a
tight left hand bend. Continue on the B3274 (Bodmin Road) past a car park on your right for 2 miles through Trethowel and Ruddlemoor. The Country Park will be on your left in the village of Carthew.

Travelling from the north or south on the A30 Turn off at the Victoria junction, following signs for Roche. At the mini roundabout in Roche, take the first exit onto the B3274. Go straight across the next mini roundabout
and continue for 2.3 miles. At the next roundabout, take the third exit, signposted Carthew B3274. After 1 mile, the Country Park is on the right.

PARKING:
There is plenty of room at the venue car park.
