Street photography is the art of capturing every day life in public places. But how do you do that with some artistic flare?
This year, Islington Festival's photographer Marc Gascoigne is joined by expert street photographer Cyrus Katrak to impart some wisdom on capturing urban life on the streets of Angel and Islington. We'll talk you through all the key elements of a good photograph - camera settings, picking good subjects, light, storytelling and all the rest - and give you tips on how to use these to create memorable images.
Send us the photo you're proudest of before the day - we'll be starting with a (very gentle, positive and supportive!) critique. And remember to bring your camera as we'll be heading out to do some shooting on the streets of Islington.
Want to shoot like Cartier-Bresson or Vivian Maier? Come along! Have no idea who they are? Come along! This workshop is for people who love street photography and for people who just want to use their camera better - all the advice will raise your photography no matter what you want to make pictures of. We look forward to seeing you there.
