GEORGIA VAN ETTEN - CANCELLED

Singer-songwriter Georgia van Etten is a rising soul star taking vocal inspiration from soul icons Etta James, Otis Redding and Donny Hathaway and song- writing legends Carole King, Amy Winehouse and Stevie Nicks.

Her music has its roots in blues and southern soul mixed with heavy doses of country music and more recently, jazz. Although her musical roots are in the past her sound is unmistakenly contemporary.

Her debut EP, “Live at the Pool Studio” in 2017 won her wide critical success. Lead single ‘Take My Hand’ was played on BBC Radio 2 and was playlisted on The Blues Show.  When featured on Jamie Callum’s Jazz Show he remarked, "A voice so full of texture and experience…this really blew me away when I first heard it”. Blues & Soul Magazine UK was full of praise declaring “Put simply, this is a damn fine EP”. Her much awaited debut album “Deep Black Water” will be launched in April 2020.

Georgia was born in Melbourne, Australia and came to England in 2014 with nothing more than a suitcase in hand and a burning ambition to succeed. She quickly established herself on London’s music scene as a talented singer-songwriter with a captivating voice and a clutch of killer songs.

She now tours extensively both overseas and in the UK. As an international touring artist she’s clocked up appearances at Omeara,  Porretta Soul Festival (Italy), Montreux Jazz (Switzerland), Jazz à Vienne (France) and the Falls Festival (Australia). Within the Uk she has appeared at Ronnie Scotts, Pizza Express with Omar (OBE), Ealing Blues Festival with Grammy Nominee Earl Thomas,  Stompin’ On The Quomps and Cambridge International Jazz Festival.
