Ghost Walks 2017

Come and hear tales of ghostly apparitions from days gone by, of trapped spirits in cellars, and mysterious footsteps enriched with a glimpse of Northampton’s historical past.

ONCE a town of great importance, Northampton history is often long forgotten. Looking Glass Theatre’s Ghost Walk mixes theatre, history and the paranormal to REAWAKEN the town’s past. During HALLOWEEN 2017 the theatrical team will be providing two tours.

Tour One: 24th - 27th October 2017 at 6.30pm & 8pm
This tour will take you into Northampton’s Guildhall itself, where ghostly tales from the past will be brought to life by our tour guide and other theatricalities! Walk with us if you dare, but if you do, be prepared to witness a trial of the ‘blazing car murder’, venture into dark prison cells, before finally making your way through the shadows of Northampton town centre to the haunted Tudor building in Marefair, Hazelrigg House. N.B. New walk for 2017

Meeting Point: In front of The Guildhall, St. Giles Square, Northampton, NN1 1DE
Finish Point: Hazelrigg House, 33 Marefair, Northampton, NN1 1SR
Time Duration: The walk will last approximately one hour.

Tour Two: 28th, 29th & 31st October 2017 at 5pm, 7pm & 9pm
This tour will guide you around the Heritage Gateway to the town, situated on the historic Black Lion Hill, near the train station and the other round. The tales include the Northampton WITCH TRIALS, the FIRE OF NORTHAMPTON, local stories of the horrific BLACK DEATH and the town’s links to the BATTLE OF NASEBY. Along the way, you will be visiting the 900 year old St Peter’s Church; the Tudor Hazelrigg House and its newly opened cellars and the Northampton Castle site, including a brand new VR experience of the ghosts of Northampton Castle. Hear and see tales told and re-enacted that offer a glimpse of Northampton’s historical past through ghostly stories and events. N.B.
