Salvador Sanchez currently studies piano and composition at the Royal College of Music in London with teachers Danny Driver (Festival Associate Artist) and Alison Kay. An accomplished performer, he has won several prizes for his playing, including Best Spanish Pianist and the Award for the Best Interpretation of a Spanish Piece at the prestigious Vigo International Piano Competition; he also won the Edinburgh City Competition in 2019, going on to play Ravel's G major concerto at Edinburgh Queen's Hall. His programme is inspired by his homeland and is a rare chance to hear the complete Granados Goyescas Op. 11 (or Los majos enamorados - 'The Gallants in Love'), a renowned work that is full of intricacy and is infused with Spanish flavour and virtuosic ornamentation.
