Adult Creative Workshops: Sketchbooks with April Barlow at Chippenham Museum

Be inspired by Chippenham Museum’s collection and latest exhibition whilst developing new creative skills with local artist and teacher April Barlow.

During this three hour adult workshop you will make your own sketchbook, combining a variety of papers, and be encouraged to discover new ways of drawing as you try different mark making techniques.

Booking for this workshop is essential. No experience is necessary and refreshments are provided.

April studied at Goldsmiths College before teaching Art in Wiltshire secondary schools. She now practices as an independent from her own studio in Chippenham.

Chippenham Museum’s exhibition ‘Strange & Wonderful Beings: The Work of Clifford & Rosemary Ellis’ (5 October – 18 January) celebrates the work of Clifford and Rosemary Ellis, whose artistic partnership included many iconic book cover and poster designs. Clifford Ellis is perhaps best known for his work as head of the pioneering Bath Academy of Art, based at Corsham Court.

This workshop is one in a programme of Saturday creative workshops for adults taking place at Chippenham Museum every month until Spring 2020.

Chippenham Museum is open Monday to Saturday from 10am to 4pm, including Bank Holidays. The museum, a Chippenham Town Council facility, is free to enjoy with two floors of galleries to explore.
