Chippenham Museum's Cabinet of Gin & Curiosity

A night at the museum like no other…

Chippenham Museum presents an evening of circus sideshows and curious happenings all served with a glass of Scout & Sage Gin.

Drop in between 6pm and 8pm to enjoy an immersive experience themed by Chippenham Museum’s latest display ‘The Obscure Eye Presents…’  , a fanciful exploration of circus where drawings, costumes and cabinets of curiosities reveal the story of the Ringmaster, a Stag Beetle and his human wife, their circus family and performing fleas. Guests are invited to embrace the theme of the event, with dressing up encouraged!

Tickets include a welcome gin from the museum’s pop-up Gin Bar, provided by local independent producer Scout & Sage, with opportunity to purchase further drinks to enjoy whilst exploring the museum throughout the evening. Award winning Scout & Sage, based on an old fruit farm in Semington, produce London Dry Gin in small batches using traditional distilling methods.

On arrival guests will be given tokens to spend at the various circus sideshows. Guests will also encounter a number of characters from the circus as they explore the museum. Look out for the Strongman, Ring Master, Explorer and more!
This event is taking place as part of the national Museums at Night programme and is being delivered with support from Rag & Bone Arts and Scout & Sage Spirits.

Please note this event is for those aged 18+. Chippenham Museum will be operating a Think 25 policy and all guests may be asked for proof of age on arrival. Tickets are £10, booking essential, and can be purchased in advance from Chippenham Museum’s website. Please note tickets are non-refundable.

Chippenham Museum is open Monday to Saturday from 10am to 4pm. The museum, a Chippenham Town Council facility, is free to enjoy with two floors of galleries to explore.
