This is the world-famous musical from the original novel by Victor Hugo of the power struggle between Jean Valjean and the Police Inspector Javert. Valjean is released on parole after 19 years in the chain gang. He finds his yellow ticket-of-leave that he must, by law, display condemns him to be an outcast, forcing him to seek refuge with the Bishop of Digne. Caught stealing silver, Valjean is spared further imprisonment by the Bishop. Javert is determined to catch this man who has violated his parole, so as Valjean finds a moral conscience and new purpose under a pseudonym he continually comes close to the hands of Javert, whilst another revolution looms over Paris. Packed with great songs, the Les Misérables music includes ‘I Dreamed a Dream’, ‘Castle on a Cloud’, ‘One Day More, On My Own’, ‘Empty Chairs at Empty Tables’ and ‘Bring Him Home’. Courage Performers have no less than 80 actors in this production, spilt into two casts and with a live band, this promises to be an epic production!
