Rewind Trauma Therapy

This workshop will introduce you to and train you in Rewind Trauma Therapy.

Rewind Trauma Therapy was developed by Dr David Muss (founder of International Association of Rewind Trauma Therapy) and first introduced into the literature of Post Traumatic Stress Disorder back in 1991 in the British Journal of Clinical Psychology 1991.

This is a very simple and yet powerful therapy which has proved highly successful with those who have experienced trauma and is now proving successful with phobias.

It is easily learnt; applicable to survivors’ trans culturally and usually requires no more than two sessions to bring about closure for single traumas. Research has shown that the results are enduring.

Dr David Muss says - unlike other imaginal exposure therapies, because no details are disclosed to the therapist, the treatment is known as "closure without disclosure. The benefits of non-disclosure include: Minimizing the risk of the client being re-traumatized.
No fear of disclosing sensitive information e.g. In the case of servicemen, for example, about deployment.
For survivors of rape and sexual abuse the benefit of not having to disclose details of the event to a stranger is self-evident
Minimizing the risk to the counsellor of developing compassion fatigue, particularly for those therapists involved with heavy workloads.

This training is being led by Anne Duke who is a counsellor, supervisor and trainer, Head of Counselling and Training for Network and an Accredited Trainer with the IARTT.

Having trained in 2017, Anne finds the Rewind Trauma Therapy a helpful therapeutic intervention to offer clients.  Anne says “I have offered the Rewind Trauma Therapy to many clients who have reported their PTSD symptoms have been significantly improved and in many cases have recovered completely.  A recent individual with a phobia of flying, after just one session of Rewind Therapy, reported a 60% reduction in their fear of flying and has since spent the last 6 months flying all around the globe.”
