HDFA - Drama Festival of One Act Plays 2019

Performances will take place at 7.30pm each evening and there will also be matinees on Saturday 29th and Sunday 30th June at 2.30pm. 

Each performance will consist of different adult and youth Drama Groups from throughout the District performing one-act plays of their choice.  

Each session will usually include two or three different plays while the last evening, ‘Red Carpet Awards’, will include special entertainment and the presentation of awards for both the Drama and Dance Festivals.

Come along and support your favourite local Drama Group or just enjoy an afternoon or evening of entertainment.

Itinerary Of Performers

Friday 28th - 7.30pm
Smithdon High School will perform two original scripts written by the Students.
Saturday 29th - 2.30pm
Downham Amateur Dramatic Society (DADS) perform Keep Death off the Road by Richard Abel (Original), Followed by Wilburton Theatre Group with The Last Bread Pudding by Nick Warburton.
Saturday 29th - 7.30pm
Old Buckingham Players present Semblance of Madness by John H Newman, followed by The Boston Playgoers with an original play by Kei Bailey called Clever Clogs. Lastly, there are The Wisbech Players performing, She Was Only A Farmer’s Daughter by Millard Crosby.
Sunday 30th - 2.30pm
The Wilburton Youth Group will perform Dukes and Fairies by Pat Garrod.
Sunday 30th - 7.30pm
The Red- Carpet Awards Ceremony where the groups find out who has won Best Actor, Best Team and Best Youth Group for the year. There will also be a fun Play-reading from Scratch Competition for anyone to enter on the night. Here anyone can take part as the script will be given out 5 mins before it’s performed!
