A Classical Soiree: A Night of Mozart, Mahler, Prokofiev, and DeBussy
The program will begin with
“Quartet for Flute and Strings” by the beloved classical composer
Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart.
We then move on to the sublime impressionistic music of
Claude Debussy with a transcription for flute, clarinet, and piano of
“Prelude to the Afternoon of a Faun.”
Following that we will set a record for number of performers on the stage with 11 musicians interpreting
Gustav Mahler’s
“Songs of a Wayfarer,” arranged by the 20th century composer Arnold Schoenberg.
The program will conclude with
Serge Prokofiev’s delightful
“Overture on Hebrew Themes.”The Artists for the Evening:
