Kidsfest'22 | Curupira and other tales, Mike Payton

Mike Payton is a professional storyteller who has been telling tales across the UK and beyond for the past 15 years, working in over 150 schools as well as museums, galleries and festivals. His stories come from all around the globe, though he has a particular love of Central and South American folklore, having lived and travelled extensively through the region.
Evil kings, rainforest demons, hungry dragons and shape shifting boggarts: come along and see which tales Mike brings with him to the Repton Kidsfest. Some are serious, some a little frightening, some gloriously silly…but Mike promises to guide you through the story forest until we are back in the sunshine, safe and well.
Mike will be performing 3 shows throughout the afternoon, one at 2pm, one at 3pm and the final one at 4pm. Shows last around 40 minutes and are aimed at KS2/Upper primary, though older children and adults are very welcome too.
“Mike’s wonderful tales kept hundreds mesmerised while making it an unforgettable experience for everybody.” Jimena Gorraez-Belmar, Events curator, The Wellcome Trust
“He’s crazy! But funny, and a bit scary.” Year 4 pupil, Keyworth School
