Having started out as a writer/performer in theatre, Nick Whitfield’s writing attracted the attention of the film industry, and he’s been writing screenplays under commission since the late 90s. Nick will share insights from his career, particularly in relation to writng for the screen.
His film SKELETONS, which he also directed, starred Jason Isaacs (HARRY POTTER), Paprika Steen (FESTEN) and Tuppence Middleton (WAR AND PEACE). The film screened at festivals on five continents, secured US distribution, won the Michael Powell Award at Edinburgh International Film Festival, and was nominated for best debut at the BAFTAs and best screenplay at the Writers’ Guild Awards.
His project ECHO, with Nick attached as co-writer and director, is in early pre-production with Warp Films.
He has run screenwriting workshops in a variety of settings, including Oxford University, the University of Bristol and National Film School, Cuba.
