Basketmakers' Association - 'Basketry Identity'

This is an exhibition of selected works by some of the 700 plus members of the Basketmakers’ Association. The pieces are a response to the maker’s ideas about their ‘Basketry Identity’. The exhibition will show the wide range of materials and techniques used in the creation of both functional and artistic baskets. There will also be an installation and various sculptural forms. The whole will reflect the great skill and diversity of basketmaking today.
During the exhibition there will be related workshops for adults and children, taught by experienced teachers, and subsidised by the BA. The children will have a go at a variety of basketry techniques, whilst the adults will complete a basket.
