Edinburgh Previews - Simon Evans + Suzi Ruffell

Simon Evans
Comedian and writer Simon Evans has established himself as one of the most intelligent and sharp live performers in the country. He is the writer of choice for Dara O Briain and a regular on panel shows The News Quiz and The Unbelievable Truth.
Simon is an acerbic, sometimes caustic wit that revels in his (entirely ironic) sense of superiority over most of the world. Subtle, sarcastic and smart, Simon takes uncompromising aim at life, organisations, and people from the regions. But it’s all shot through with the knowingness and self-deprecation that has made him such a regular hit on the UK comedy circuit and at the Edinburgh Fringe and Montreal festivals.
Amongst a host of TV appearances, Simon has been a guest on Michael McIntryre’s Comedy Roadshow, University Challenge: The Professionals, and The Comic Side of 7 Days. He has also been a writer on Lee Mack’s sit-com Not Going Out, 8 Out Of 10 Cats, and for Lily Savage, and was a writer and co-creator of the panel show Argumental.
Simon is a regular on Radio 4, presenting his own show investigating arbitrary systems and appearing on The Stand Up Show.

Suzi Ruffell
Regarded as one of best up and coming acts on the circuit Suzi is in constant demand at clubs and theatres across Britain. Fast establishing herself on the live circuit supporting Alan Carr, Josh Widdicombe and Kevin Bridges on tour she then went onto have a sell-out double header tour with Romesh Ranganathan in the spring of 2015.
Suzi television appearances include Channel 4’s ‘It Was Alright in the 70s’, BBC3’s ‘Ed Fest Live’, E4’s ‘Virtually Famous’ and two series of Comedy Central ‘The Comedy Store’.  Outside the realms of stand-up, Suzi co-hosts a hit podcast ‘Like Minded Friends’ with her fellow comedian Tom Allen.  She is also a talented actor and writer, with one of her sitcoms nominated for a 2012 BAFTA Roclidde New Writing Award, which is currently in development. She has also written additional material for TV shows such as The Last Leg, Mock The Week and 8 Out Of 10 Cats.
