Andrew Marriner is one of the world’s leading clarinettists. He has held the position of principal clarinet in the LSO since 1986, when he succeeded the late Jack Brymer. He later became principal clarinet of his father’s orchestra, the Academy of St Martins in the Field, a position he held concurrently with his commitment to the LSO till 2008.

As a soloist his career is worldwide in its reach, taking him regularly from Europe to the Americas, Asia and Australia.
