Journey's Other End

Following the success of the film adaptation of Journey’s End, Sherriff was encouraged by several film studios to write a sequel. he turned his focus on the debilitating effects of war on those who survive it and specifically to the character of Stanhope, as he struggles to come to terms with the pressures of civilian life whilst haunted by the past. In the end, the film studios were relunctant to make a film that dealt with very real, very contemporary issues and Sherriff moved on to other projects.

Using the scripted scenes, notes and research that Sherriff undertook, the R C Sherriff Trust presents a ‘staged presentation’ of the sequel to Journey’s End.
