Maiastra String Quartet

Next year, 2020, will see the 250th anniversary of Beethoven’s birth, and over the next four years Maiastra will be celebrating this event by performing all of his 16 string quartets in the order in which they were published.

In the second concert in the series Akiko Ono, a professor at The Yehudi Menuhin School and the Guildhall School of Music & Drama and the winner of many prestigious international competitions, will be joined by three outstanding young musicians in a programme of works for string quartet which will include Beethoven's Quartet in G major, Op. 18 No. 2, 'Three Idylls, by Frank Bridge and Ravel's Quartet in F major.
