The Gallery Cafe project

Wednesday 14 October to Sunday 1 November
10am to 4pm daily

We are putting a few socially distanced tables inside the Gallery for our visitors to enjoy artwork on the walls, and tea and cake on the tables! Artwork will feature work by many Riverhoue Favourites, including Corinne Manches, Wendy Clouse, Sarah Simonds Gooding, Patsy Fraser and will be available for sale.

Simon Watterton - Beethoven Cycle

8 November 'Waldstein'

Simon begins his sonata cycle with four works from different periods of the composer's life. The first sonata already finds Beethoven in revolutionary mood, before the wonderful A Flat Major sonata op.26, favourite of Frederic Chopin. Next is the late E Minor sonata and a glimpse into the intimate, private world of late Beethoven, before the concert closes with the mighty, life-affirming 'Waldstein.' Available as live stream too.

Wedensday 11 November 12.30pm lunch for 1pm concert
Milena has performed and broadcast internationally and appeared as a soloist with the Serbian Radio National Orchestra. This concert has limited seats and is available to stream too. 

Way Out West: The Songs of Stevie Wonder

Way Out West: Music of Protest

For their second gig at Riverhouse as part of the EFG London Jazz Festival, Way Out West presents 'Music of Protest'. Drawing on the tradition of music with a political content, the programme includes pieces by Charles Mingus, Mike Westbrook, The Liberation Music Orchestra, Victor Jara and Leon Rosselson in new instrumental settings.

After the huge success of Old Herbaceous, Kick In The Head productions are back with a rip roaring barrel of fun, Three Men in a Boat, with Giles Shenton (Old Herbaceous himself!) playing the part of Jerome K Jerome.

Candlelit Christmas Concert (with a singalong)

Friday 4 December - 7.30pm
Four beautiful voices come together for a candlelit Christmas concert which is guaranteed to get you in the festive spirit. Not only will you be serenaded in style but you’ll have a chance to join in as well! There will be copious amounts of opportunities to singalong. So stock up on mince pies and mulled wine and why not join us in person or on zoom for a night to remember? 

A CHRISTMAS CAROL (EMCC)

Join Scoot Theatre this festive season for Charles Dickens’ classic Christmas story, as you’ve never seen it before!  Three actor-musicians bound through this sixty-minute, light-hearted, family-friendly adaptation filled with music, song and dance to get you firmly in the Christmas ‘spirit’. (ages 7+)

Lunchtime Concert - Double Action Harp Duo - Christmas Special

Keziah and Eleanor are founding members of 4 Girls 4 Harps who have visited Riverhouse on many joyful occassions. In this Covid reduced Christmas Concert their programme will include music by Vivaldi, Handel and Maudlin and lots of sparky Christmas arrangements.
 

Carol’s Christmas by Tall Tree Theatre

Carol has a very important job. The second most important job at Christmas, after Santa Clause himself. Think of her as Postman Pat's cool aunt.
Will she make it down her beloved street before Christmas Day, delivering the carefully wrapped, christmassy post! Join her as she's side-tracked, distracted and interrupted by the array of magical characters that live behind the doors.
