Three intoxicating summer days on a beautiful country estate in mid 19th Century Russia: a new tutor arrives at Arkady’s household, and before long everyone is caught in a swirl of passions: first love, forbidden love, secret longings and absurd desires. Turgenev’s original play A Month in The Country is widely regarded as a classic example of lyrical Russian comedy and Marber’s version has condensed the action and given its language a vivid immediacy.
This performance is not recommended for those under the age of 12.
