Trojan Women

BA (Hons) American Theatre Arts in collaboration with the School of Design, Management & Technical Arts presents:

Trojan Women
by Euripides

Director: Matthew Gordon Martin
Lighting Designer: Nat Green
Sound Designer: Zack Beniston / James Fraser
Costume Designer: Katie Khushi

In the aftermath of a war that has seen their city defiled, Hecuba and her children await their fate at the hands of a pitiless enemy.

Inspired by American collagist, Charles L Mee, this new version of Euripides’ classic anti-war play revisits the lesser known myth of the willing martyr, Polyxena.

“Euripides’ shocks to the system have lost none of their power over the centuries.”
Rush Rehm, Greek Tragedy and the Modern World
