Slab Building: Plates & Platters

WHAT WILL WE BE DOING?
Sally will demonstrate slab building a large plate, incorporating decorative techniques such as incising; impressing; applying sprig motifs.

For the rest of the workshop, with encouragement and support from Sally, using stoneware or earthenware clay you'll create your own unique design.

Option 1: £120
When your work is dry Sally will bisque fire it, glaze it in your chosen colour, then glaze fire it. It'll be ready for collection, or posting (extra cost) within about 3 - 4 weeks.

Option 2: £160
When your work is dry Sally will bisque fire it and then you will need to book a separate two-hour glazing workshop, when you will glaze your creations with beautiful glazes, for a colourful, shiny and waterproof finish. After the glaze has dried, Sally will fire the work again and have it ready for collection, or posting (extra cost) within about 3 - 4 weeks.


ABOUT SALLY
Sally Mareike, the tutor is DBS checked, with over 20 years experience of teaching pottery and supervising groups and she absolutely loves helping people get creative with clay!

WHO IS IT FOR?
This workshop is for adults (15+) and no experience is necessary!
Why not gather up some of your favourite friends and get creative together? The more the merrier. (Max 6)

WHAT’S INCLUDED?
Fun, aprons, tools, materials, firing.

WHAT SHOULD I BRING?
Make sure you wear clothes and shoes that you don't mind getting dirty. Old t-shirts are used as aprons in the studio. Dress up warmly as the studio temperature may vary. Sally will provide some vegan cake for tea break time. Please bring your own lunch and snacks. We will eat lunch in Sally's home.
