Slough Philharmonic Chorus and Orchestra
Marlow Community Choir
The season ends in true blockbuster style: Richard Strauss’ Tod und Verklärung (Death and Transfiguration) stands alone amongst the composer's flashier tone poems as containing a deep sincerity of human emotion.
Brahms’ German Requiem is quite simply one of the greatest choral works ever written. He selected passages from reformer Martin Luther’s German translation of the Bible that not only mourn the dead but also comfort the living. It provides both challenge and an opportunity for the chorus, the two soloists and the orchestra. We are delighted to welcome back soprano Jess Hopkins together with baritone, Ross Cumming, for this performance.
Seating is unreserved.
All tickets include a free concert programme.
There is ample car parking at the venue.
The Baylis Theatre, Braywick Leisure Centre has step free access.
