The Picts left plenty of evidence of their presence in Shetland, including a remarkable collection of carved stones, ogham writing and of course, the St Ninian's Isle treasure. However, evidence of where the Picts actually lived has been somewhat elusive.
Now - more by accident than design, several researchers are beginning to find Pictish settlement when they were expecting something else. Is Pictish settlement hidden in plain sight? And if so, where could we now expect to find it and why?
Join regional archaeologist, Dr Val Turner, as she discusses the latest research into Shetland’s Picts.
