Join us at the Shetland Museum & Archives for a unique and creative workshop that will allow your child to make their own scrimshaw-style design and have a go at carving it onto soap. This is inspired by the bone carvings that Shetland whalers did when they visited the Arctic and Antarctic. As a bonus, a member of our learning team will show the group around the museum galleries, highlighting the objects made during voyages in polar regions. Your child will learn about previous Shetlanders and what they brought back with them from their travels, while having a go at a new craft!
