Vintage Vixens - Suffragettes to Superstars

An all female vocal and dance delight supported by a live band...

The Vintage Vixens tell the story of how the mostly demure and forgotten housewife of the early 1900’s became the sassy, sultry and sophisticated rock chick of the 70’s. Starting in 1941, where women not only played a huge part in lifting people’s spirits during the war but also filled the vital factory and farm jobs that kept the army equipped and the population fed, we trace the rise and rise of girl power through their music.

It was out of the bleak war-time period that The Andrews Sisters became iconic military pin ups while telling the world about their avant garde Boogie Woogie Bugle Boy, and it was men that increasingly became the subject of wave after wave of new musical styles driven by the rise of the diva. From an age where women were mostly portrayed as being very girly and graceful, and men were men, these girls turned the tables on society and their man and made their own way.

And what a way it was, through Mary Wells and Dinah Washington via Martha Reeves and The Ronettes to Aretha Franklin, LaBelle and Cher – an era where the gloom of war was thoroughly shaken off and replaced by glitz, glamour and the disco ball.

Vintage Vixens promises a stunning night of live music and dance, with songs to get you out of your seat from Sway to Lady Marmalade, and some humour along the way as this uplifting show explores the rise of the 'girls' and their influence on music and men. The 8 Vintage Vixens will enchant and entertain you: it’s a show you won’t want to miss!

Quadrophenia Live!

8-piece band The Goldhawks deliver a stunning live performance of The Who’s smash hit concept album, Quadrophenia.

Released over 40 years ago in October 1973, The Who’s second rock opera ‘Quadrophenia’ was Pete Townshend’s homage to a pivotal moment in British youth culture. The album tells the story of Jimmy, a Mod, by chronicling his dissatisfaction with life, work, love, home, and family life. It served as an ode to teenage angst and counterculture rebellion, as well as a criticism of the British class, economic and educational systems and is packed with anthemic rock songs.

Backed with exciting, and sometimes heart-wrenching, large-screen projection of archival footage, the emotions, tension and raw power that the music demands is delivered masterfully by the fabulous, charismatic band, The Goldhawks, with amazing replication of The Who’s sound. To send you home on an even bigger high there are a few all-time classic Who hits to close the show!

“Absolutely first class.....Having toured with The Who for ten years I can safely say that this band is the next best thing and the closest you will ever get to the real thing” – Wolfy Foxlow, close friend of Pete Townshend and Roger Daltrey.

Carpenters Gold

Immerse yourself in an enchanting evening featuring the musical brilliance of Richard and Karen Carpenter. From Close to You, all of their chart-topping hits feature including Top of the World, We've Only Just Begun, Goodbye to Love, Please Mr Postman, For All We Know and Only Yesterday. All superbly performed live in concert, just as they would have been by The Carpenters back in the day at the Talk of the Town , London Palladium or some of their International tours including Japan.

Indeed, West End star and director Vikki Holland-Bowyer not only perfectly emulates Karen's legendary rich contralto, she even gets behind the drums! Also, The Carpenters' on stage light-hearted humour is captured perfectly as Greg Stevenson effortlessly recreates Richard's sublime piano playing supported by a band oozing Seventies glitz.

When we were young we'd listen to the radio, waiting for our favourite songs - now we can enjoy them live, performed just how they would have been by the Carpenters during their heyday.

Carpenters Gold is heading your way - it's Yesterday Once More.

"Amazing contralto vocals. . . Carpenters Gold was an absolute joy to

Kevin 'Bloody' Wilson - The Almost Awesome Tour

A long time ago, a long way from anywhere, in a West Australian mining town called Kalgoorlie, the legend of Kevin Bloody Wilson was born. It all started innocently enough - just a guy with too much time on his hands changing the words to other people’s songs, and writing a few of his own, purely for the fun of it. Thirty-five years later, countless live gigs and millions of album sales down the track, Kevin Bloody Wilson has not only found his niche, he’s grabbed an esky and a deckchair and he’s made himself really bloody comfortable in it!

Kev’s songs match the Kalgoorlie landscape, dry and unforgiving. These songs are uniquely Australian, and yet year after year, album after album, tour after tour, people from all corners of the globe keep laughing their guts out at Kevin Bloody Wilson’s completely authentic and original body of work. The bawdy ballad has been around forever. The Bard, William Shakespeare, wrote bawdy verse. Scotland's Wee Robbie Burns wrote an entire book of dirty ditties and bawdy poems. The bawdy ballad has lifted the spirits of Troops from both sides of wartime conflicts, and who of us doesn't remember at least two or three bawdy limericks? Yet, in today's politically correct times, it seems only one person is perpetuating and preserving this unique art form - KEVIN BLOODY WILSON.

Labeled by ’60 Minutes’ as Australian Comedy Icon and defender of free speech, Kev's Master Craftsmanship and world-wide popularity, is further proof that Kevin Bloody Wilson is the sole owner of an entire genre of music, The Contemporary Bawdy Ballad.

Don’t miss KEV in his highly anticipated return to the UK - with his Brand New Christmas Album - on his global ALMOST AWESOME Tour!

Some politically correct snowflakes may Kev a bit offensive....  Kev says DILLIGAF!
We say over 18 with a strong constitution recommended for this night with two of our favourite comedy legends, which also includes Kev's special guest Jenny Talia.
