Something About George - The George Harrison Story

'Something About George – The George Harrison Story' is a musical biopic tribute about the so-called “quiet” Beatle. This show comes to the Spa Pavilion for the first time – following its hugely successful 2023 tour which celebrated what would have been George’s 80th birthday.

“All Things Must Pass”, they say. Well, George Harrison’s name will live on forever. From the creators of 'Something About Simon – The Paul Simon Story', a brand-new show that will answer the question “where does life take you after being in the greatest band in the history of the world?”

Starring West End actor and musician Daniel Taylor, 'Something About George – The George Harrison Story' tells the truly remarkable tale of one of music’s most understated icons.

Featuring a five-piece band performing beautiful songs such as “My Sweet Lord”, “Something”, “Got My Mind Set On You” and “Handle With Care”, the show includes incredible solo material and music from rock n’ roll’s greatest supergroup, The Travelling Wilburys - not forgetting more than a few Beatles’ classics along the way. From heartbreak to hedonism and song writing to instant success, 'Something About George' will show you a life that was anything but quiet.

WHAT THE PRESS SAID…
★★★★★ “Something about George is a show that will be around in the years to come.” - Wirral Globe
★★★★★ “All songs were performed superbly pitch perfect, giving a moving and entirely beautiful tribute.”- The Broken Spine
★★★★★ “I loved everything about this show, thank You for giving us such a brilliant night of non-stop entertainment.” - Fairy Powered

The Quo Experience

The UK’s Number One Status Quo Tribute Show!

“An excellent show, really capturing the essence of the Quo I played with for 13 odd years – the attention to detail is awesome!” MATT LETLEY - Status Quo drummer 2000-2013

Rockin’ All Over The World -  Whatever You Want – Down Down – Living On An Island – In The Army Now - What You’re Proposing – Burning Bridges… just a few of the many hits spreading five decades of Status Quo’s incredible music history.

‘The Quo Experience' is an East Anglian based band including David Wood as ‘Francis Rossi’ and Dave Crawte as ‘Rick Parfitt’; both have spent years studying every detail of Rossi and Parfitt's looks, playing styles and stage performances to make sure they are both as close to the real thing on stage as is possible, without actually being the legendary rock duo themselves! The magic and chemistry that the Parfitt/Rossi partnership brought to a Quo 'live' performance is now being continued within The Quo Experience.

However, The Quo Experience is not all about Rick and Francis; it also features Graham Partridge, who captures the magic of Status Quo’s long-term keyboard player Andy Bown's playing and vocals perfectly; plus Adam Spicer on drums and Del Fletcher on bass, who together help create the Status Quo ‘live’ sound every fan expects to hear!

With such an impressive line-up of seriously experienced musicians and passionate Quo fans, along with a stage show that includes the legendary Status Quo wall of white Marshalls and replica guitars, The Quo Experience is fully armed to take the act as far as is possibly achievable in the tribute band industry. The Quo Experience is, however, not just another Quo tribute band - it is an 'experience'; an ongoing chance to 'experience' the sounds and looks of "Britain's biggest singles chart band of all time" as we all remember it!

The Spirit of the Blitz

Spirit Of The Blitz - D-Day 80th Anniversary Special

We open the 1940s songbook for a tribute to the legendary stars who kept us smiling through our darkest days.

Spirit Of The Blitz recaptures the tenacious optimism of war-torn Britain on the long road towards peace. Sing along to swinging hits like: 'Don’t Sit Under The Apple Tree', 'Bless ‘Em All', 'Leaning On A Lamp-Post', and of course, 'We’ll Meet Again'.

Starring Andy Eastwood, Maggie O’Hara and Pete Lindup, this feel-good show recreates all your forties favourites, including Vera Lynn, George Formby, Max Miller, Bing Crosby, Anne Shelton and Gracie Fields. A truly heartwarming afternoon of live music and laughter. For those who remember the 40s, the show is a trip down memory lane; for those who don’t, it’s a Sentimental Journey back through time to the glorious melodies and good clean comedy that accompanied a dogged nation’s battle for survival. When one of the swans turns into a beautiful young woman, he is instantly captivated – will his love prove strong enough to break the evil spell that she is under?

IMPORTANT NOTICE FOR LIVE MUSIC SHOWS
Please be aware that we are a theatre, not a nightclub, and our audiences are predominantly seated. However, many live acts will encourage the audience to participate with singing, dancing and standing. We have to balance this with those that cannot or prefer not to stand and all seats from Row K forwards are only for those wishing to remain in their seats. You will need to move to an aisle behind row K to stand or dance if you book a seat forward of this row. All seating to the rear of this row permits standing/dancing (in both seated areas and the aisles), in most circumstances, for live music shows.

Please be aware: if you book seats in the area behind Row K and do not stand, your view may be obscured by those who wish to do so. These areas are clearly marked when you book your tickets.

However, standing at your seat at any show is not a right. We ask audience members to be kind and considerate to those around them at all times, and to follow the instructions of our ushers and security staff. Anyone who refuses to do as we ask, or is rude or obviously intoxicated, will be asked to leave the theatre. No alcohol, drinks or food may be brought into our building; bags may be searched and such items removed and disposed of.

We hope you understand that these rules are to protect your enjoyment of our show, and that of the whole audience, and that you thoroughly enjoy your visit to The Spa.

The Jive Aces - Live In Concert

Together for over 25 years, The Jive Aces have been keeping the show on the road for three decades and become renowned worldwide for their high-energy live show, having toured in over 40 countries. The band aim to spread smiles and cheer with their swingin' music and classic vintage style, from crooning smooth ballads to blasting honking rhythm & blues. Having played for Her Majesty the Queen, sold out the Royal Albert Hall and become the first band to reach the finals of 'Britain's Got Talent' , they continuously showcase why they are the UK's No.1 Jive & Swing band!

With their trademark yellow suits and a repertoire that stretches from the timeless tunes of the swing era to the glitz of the Rat Pack with a dash of classic rock n' roll, they perform songs in their unique upbeat style by such great artists as Bobby Darin, Louis Armstrong, Sammy Davis Jr. and Ella Fitzgerald as well as a selection of superb original tunes. If you have any doubt, their version 'Bring Me Sunshine', will change your mind - their version of the song has been used in countless TV shows including three times on 'Strictly Come Dancing'!!

This tour celebrates their new album, 'Keeping The Show On The Road', and includes many of the songs that have become live favourites over the past few years for a show not to be missed.
