The Harmonists - A Harpsichord Extravaganza

Thomas Allery is Director of Music at Temple Church.  Outside of Temple Church, Thomas enjoys a varied career spanning work as an organist, harpsichordist, and teacher. Thomas is also organist of St Mary-le-Bow Church, Cheapside, where he plays for services for several of the City’s ancient Livery companies and presents regular concerts. He is organ tutor at City of London School and Radley College and teaches basso continuo at the Royal College of Music. Having studied at Oxford University and the Royal College of Music, Thomas recently completed an Artist Diploma in harpsichord at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama where he studied with James Johnstone and Carole Cerasi. He is currently undertaking research into historical continuo treatises from the seventeenth and eighteenth centuries, and exploring how they can be used in keyboard education today.
Nathaniel Mander is a harpsichordist and fortepianist whose deep love of music and passion for the 18th century have led him to devote himself to the keyboard instruments of the time. Through his studies in the UK and Europe he has developed a very expressive, personal, and authentic touch.  He is now regarded as one of the leading players of his generation. His performances have taken him throughout the UK and Europe and to the United States and South America. Nathaniel won first prize at the Early Keyboard Ensemble Competition at Fenton House and a year later took first prize at the 10th Broadwood Harpsichord Competition, subsequently winning second place at the Gianni Gambi Harpsichord competition in Pesaro, Italy, as well as the Accompanist's Prize for the John Kerr Award at Finchcocks and the Harold Samuel Bach Solo Keyboard Prize at the Royal Academy of Music. Nathaniel performs regularly in France after being invited by Marc Minkowski to join his celebrated orchestra Les Musiciens du Louvre in performances of their all-Rameau programme.
