God's Own Country (15) + Producer Q&A

Director: Francis Lee / UK / 105 mins / Cert 15

Escape to the heart of the broodingly beautiful Yorkshire Pennines with this award-winning debut feature from writer/director Francis Lee. Hailed as the UK’s answer to Brokeback Mountain, God’s Own Country is a thrilling love story about two men seeking warmth, connection and belonging in the harsh wilderness that surrounds them. Featuring a host of standout performances, this film has been marked as one this this year’s essential big screen experiences.

A young sheep farmer works long hours on his family’s remote farm in the north of England. He numbs the daily frustration of his lonely existence with nightly binge-drinking at the local pub and casual sex. But when a handsome Romanian migrant worker arrives to take up temporary work on the family farm, Johnny suddenly finds himself having to deal with emotions he has never felt before.

Join us after the film for a Q&A with producer Manon Ardisson.
