Season's Greetings

Directed by Robert Graydon

Monday 15th - Saturday 20th November 2021 at 7.45 pm

Happy Christmas to all our readers!
Or rather . . . ‘Season’s Greetings’, by Alan Ayckbourn, which we are pleased to announce will be the Swan’s November production. Cheating at Snakes & Ladders, fighting over comic books, a bungled infidelity beneath the tree, Christmas has arrived in the Bunker household along with family and friends. But as the children lurk just out of sight, it’s the adults who are letting the side down. Presiding over the festivities are two warring uncles, one a kindly, incompetent doctor with an interminable puppet show to perform; the other a bullying retired security guard who dominates the TV, brings toy guns for his nieces and determines there is a thief in their midst.
A very funny play, perfect in the run up to the festive season, ‘Season’s Greetings’ offers a seriously entertaining look at the misery and high jinks of an average family at Christmas!

Doors open 7.15 pm, show starts 7.45pm.  TICKETS ON SALE NOW

Monday night is Charity night shared by the Friends of St Margaret's Church, Tintinhull & The Vine Youth Ministry.
The structure which has evolved into St Margaret’s Church, Tintinhull has its origins in late Saxon times. It has survived the plague, Henry VIII and two world wars but it still needs approaching £100 a day to maintain. The past two years have meant no services or fund raising events so a ‘cash injection’ would be appreciated.  A successful Charity Night would be beneficial both for the church and The Swan Theatre which itself has endured a ‘dark’ period recently. The Vine Youth Ministry (VYM) was formed in 2009 when Methodist local preacher, Daniel England and his wife were considering new ways to engage children and young people with the gospel message. It delivers free assemblies (both in person & more recently online) to schools and churches in Somerset & Dorset, giving youngsters the opportunity to learn about e.g. love, respect and kindness in a fun-filled, interactive and challenging way. VYM relies on donations & grants to continue its valuable work - see www.vym.org.uk for more information. Tickets from Beryl Garton tel: 01935 475541 email: berylgarton32@gmail.com
