Rafael Klein

Rafael Klein is an artist who works in different media, from sculpture to painting graphics to artists’ books: a work always held together by narrative. This tendency of Klein’s can be seen in the 120 sculptures of Moment to Moment, a touring exhibition which will be on display in Wells Cathedral from October 7th to the 25th.

Rafael’s exquisite artist’s books are hand printed and bound, in signed limited editions. They are first and foremost sculptural objects – sometimes even including a cast bronze in the cover. They often have cut-outs, pop-ups, and other interventions, making each one a unique world of its own. His books are held in important library collections including the Museum of Modern Art, the Tate, V&A, British Library and  New York Public Library.
